Happy Birthday mother

Happy Birthday, Mother!
I miss you. I have so many nice memories growing up. I remember how you used to let us cook in the kitchen. I remember making cakes and cinnamon rolls from stratch. I can still smell butter, cinnamon, and yeast dough.
I remember that you did very creative things with Sis and I. I remember the paper trees, paper houses, oatmeal top tamborines. You never seemed to mind the messes that we made from all those art projects.
I learned to sew growing up. So 50 something years later I still enjoy sewing. I remember how you used to iron all our dresses and blouses. How nice to come home and find our clothes freshly pressed.
We played and played as children.
Thank you, mother for allowing us to play as children. That
sense of play and wonderment has stayed with me all my life.

The digital image was created from a black and white photo
of you as a young woman. I wish that I knew your age in this picture.

Love, your daughter, Christina
